IPM are proud to have been project HSPC (Health & Safety Project Coordinators) for the recently completed Les Quennevais School. The secondary school is able to accommodate up to 850 children in Years 7 to 11. The building is approximately 11,500m2 with the remainder of the site being made up of access roads, footways a car park for 109 vehicles, servicing areas, a formal playing field along with informal reception areas and landscaping features.IPM were engaged from an early stage undertaking a designer's risk workshop with the client, professional team and Facilities Management team facilitated with the aid of an interactive BIM model. IPM worked closely with the project team providing professional advice to the Client and designers relating to their duties under the Regulations and reviewing design information to advise on the avoidance, mitigation and control of associated health and safety hazards.IPM produced a comprehensive Pre-Construction Information pack for issue to the Principal Contractor including findings from site inspections and investigations, hazards identified in coordination with the project and design team and other relevant information required by the Contractor to develop the Construction Phase Plan.IPM remained active throughout the construction phase ensuring co-operation and co-ordination between the design team and the Principal Contractor. This scale and complexity of the project required the development of a thorough Health & Safety file. IPM worked in liaison with the Facilities Management and IT Teams to produce a file which could be cross referenced with Jersey Property Holding's asset management system ensuring safety critical updates are managed as well as being coordinated with the building's Operating and Maintenance Manuals.
