Project and Cost Managment
A long history of fire training left a legacy of hydrocarbon and foam contamination in the near surface soils. An Environmental Impact Assessment was necessary to support the planning application and a Fate and Behaviour study for the Consent to Discharge.
Nine options were considered for the remediation design with the favoured option being encapsulation, capping and isolation.
Following preparation of the site Remediation Contract Documents, IPM procured the contract on behalf of the client and provided Resident Engineer and Clerk of Works supervision services.
IPM were appointed to project manage and administer the contract and provide supervision for the Reinstatement Contract phase.
The Reinstatement Contract comprised the construction of an evaporation cell to retain and reuse precipitation falling on the site, as well as the construction and commissioning of a new dual fuelled training rig and ancillary structures.
Both projects were completed on time and within budget.
The entire project was shortlisted under the JeCC environmental awards.
