IPM were engaged as Project Managers and HSPCs for the reconfiguration of the Ports of Jersey Elizabeth Harbour Terminal Security and Departures Area

IPM acted as Project Managers and HSPC for the £500,000 reconfiguration of the Elizabeth Harbour Terminal for the Ports of Jersey. The refurbishment improves facilities for departing ferry passengers ahead of the busy summer season.

Originally designed in the 1970s and built in the 1980s, the terminal was no longer fit for purpose, particularly during peak periods, with growing foot passenger numbers and outdated infrastructure. As part of a wider programme of long-term investment across Jersey’s Harbour and Airport, this project represents a vital interim upgrade that will enhance passenger comfort, accessibility, and efficiency while the full terminal redevelopment is being planned.

Following the development of a value-engineered design, the project was re-priced by the contractor, and IPM managed the drafting and execution of an NEC contract.

The upgrade includes a new departure lounge with more seating, accessible facilities, a children's play area, and refreshments provided by The Shipyard. A new al fresco area has also been created for passengers who have cleared security, improving ventilation and comfort during the summer months.
