IPM were appointed Project Managers, Contract Administrators and HSPC for the £3.8million refurbishment of Maison des Landes Hotel for people with disabilities and their carers.
At almost 60 years old Maison des Landes was tired and barely functioning. IPM were appointed to deliver a refurbishment such that the space had a welcoming feel of a hotel, with the facilities to support guests with a wide range of disabilities.
Initial surveys led to a fully new mechanical & electrical system being installed alongside design specifically catering for improved accessibility, and removal/encapsulation of asbestos. All gas was removed from site amid a move to all electric service provision including safer & sustainable kitchen systems with no naked flames & burn proof heating. Roof insulation and double glazed windows replaced existing to further ensure quality control against modern standards.
A sun-lounge orangery was added thus allowing a new internal link ramp to connect the reception area with the 40-seat dining room & bar and the renewed hydrotherapy pool & spa treatment room. The external area also now offers space for eating and recreation.
The final product provides 23 different purpose-built rooms to house guests in the most suited space for them, all year round. A new Community Hub and discounted respite breaks are also on offer for those based on the island.
